After consideration of comments received, we finalized standard times for clinical labor tasks associated with digital imaging at 2 minutes for Availability of prior images confirmed, 2 minutes for Patient clinical information and questionnaire reviewed by technologist, order from physician confirmed and exam protocoled by radiologist, 2 minutes for Review examination with interpreting MD, and 1 minute for Exam documents scanned into PACS and Exam completed in RIS system to generate billing process and to populate images into Radiologist work queue. In the CY 2017 PFS final rule (81 FR 80184 through 80186), we finalized a policy to establish a range of appropriate standard minutes for the clinical labor activity, Technologist QCs images in PACS, checking for all images, reformats, and dose page. These standard minutes will be applied to new and revised codes that make use of this clinical labor activity when they are reviewed by us for valuation
